Leveranciers en andere belangstellenden kunnen voorstellen om een vernieuwende milieuvriendelijke techniek op te nemen op de Milieulijst. Hierdoor krijgt een ondernemer die investeert in deze techniek, belastingvoordeel met de Milieu-investeringsaftrek (MIA) en de Willekeurige afschrijving milieu-investeringen (Vamil). Of het voorstel op de lijst komt, hangt af van verschillende criteria.
